Solenoid Valves

+
SKU: 2CSTD7-1-1 Category:
A solenoid valve is an electromechanical device used to control the flow of liquids or gases. When an electrical current passes through the solenoid coil, it creates a magnetic field that moves a plunger to either open or close the valve orifice.
Core Types & How They Work
    • Normally Closed (NC): The valve remains shut when de-energized and opens only when power is applied. This is the most common safety configuration.
    • Normally Open (NO): The valve remains open when de-energized and shuts when power is applied, useful for continuous-flow systems.
    • Direct Acting vs. Pilot Operated: Direct-acting valves use pure electromagnetic force to open the orifice and work from 0 bar up to max pressure. Pilot-operated (indirect) valves utilize the fluid’s own pressure differential to assist in opening, making them ideal for high-flow systems but requiring a minimum pressure drop to function.
